Ch Eko-Lan's Morgan ROM: Morgan was the product of breeding
Eko-Lan's Gemini (CH. Elwillo's Ursus (inbred Gengis)to Eko-Lan's
Ebb-Tide), to the great Lance Of Fran-Jo. Gemini had only 1 litter,
she was then sold.
Ch Eko-Lan's Paladen ROM: Pal was the
product of breeding Morgan to his Dam's litter sister, Glory (inbreeding
4 X's Ghangis). Gengis was sired by G.V. Axel V. Poldehaus. Paladen
was #1 Producing sire in 1973 along with his 1/2 brother Shiloh
#5 and his sire, Morgan # 9. Pal was in the Top 20 Sires for 11
years, mostly in the Top 10. He was highest living ROM until his
death at 13 years of age.
2 x Am Sel Ch Can Sel Ch Eko-Lan's Shiloh
ROM: Shiloh was the product of breeding Morgan to his daughter
Eko-Lan's Helena. Of the 3 Shiloh males here (Shiloh, Paladen and
Morgan), he was the best show dog. He was Futurity Victor of the
U.S. in 1971 and his litter sister CH. Eko-Lan's Stardust was Futurity
Victrix the same year. I think that was the only time in the history
of that title that lattermates won it (I could be wrong.)
Sel Ch Eko-Lan's Quasar: Quasar needed
1 Champion for his ROM. He had more than enough qualifiers. Quasar
was owned by Sam & Marion Lawrence. Quasar was the product of an
inbreeding experiment conducted over many years here at Eko-Lan.
I leased a bitch, Southern Belle IV, bred her to Ch Eko-Lan's Aragon.
From this litter came the bitch Pride of Rambelwood who I leased
and bred back to her sire Aragon. From this litter cam Eko-Lan's
Flame of Aragon. I bred Flame back to her sire Aragon and from this
litter came Eko-Lan's Loner (another story...). By now, Aragon was
past breeding age (about 11-12 years), so I bred her to an Aragon
grandson, Ch Morgan, which produced Quasar.
Can Sel Ch Tanbarks Dream Weaver:
I purchased "Manno" from Tom Jenkins of Tanbark Kennels for several
reasons. 1.) He had great beauty (my dogs were kind of ugly). 2.)
Long elegant neck (mine were mostly short and thick) and 3.) he
had an extreme rear without being unsound going away. He in fact
did bring the these things into my bloodline.
FV Sel Ch Monty v Bid Scono: For all the years that Paladen
produced so well, I was never able to get a son of his that I thought
was of the quality he had produced for other kiennels. So, when
I had the oppertunity to aquire a co-ownership in Monty, I jumped
at the chance. Unfortunately, Monty was 7 + years at the time. I
didn't have time to utilize him to his fullest.
Eko-Lan's Isiah (co-owned by Tom
Castriota & Nancy Barnard),
Ch Eko-Lan's I'm Precocious (co-owned
by Tom Castriota & Gene & Sharon Jasinski),
Eko-Lan's Isis, owned by us: these
3 were sired by Ch Handsome v Cypress out of Ch
Eko-Lan's Quo Vadis ROM All 3 won their Maturities.
Ch Eko-Lan's Talisman: won his Futurity,
his Maturity, finished his Championship in very few shows, and was
very popular as a stud dog. Tally died at 2 1/2 years of age (intestinal
tortion) and since the problem was rampant in his background, we
eliminated all of his offspring from the kennel. Tally was from
a litter of 4, 3 of which became Champions. The other had both majors.
All 3 of his littermates lived to between 10 - 13 years of age.
Ch Eko-Lan's Thunderation: Talisman's
littermate, co-owned by Pat and Aponi Ayers, lived to a ripe old
age.
Ch Eko-Lan's Wracker: Sired by Am & Can
GV Ch Sabra Dennis Of Gan Eden ROM, out of Eko-Lan's America's Beauty.
FV MV 3 x Sel Ch Houston of Wildwood ROM: We had the honor of co-owning
this wonderful dog with Linda Winkler. From this dog came Ch
Eko-Lan's Nemisis and Ch Eko-Lan's Nathan
(co-owned).
Am & Can Sel Ch Eko-Lan's Nemisis ROM:
(pending GSDCA confirmation) Who we loved until he died in our arms.
He contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and we could never cure
him. Neme was sired by Houston and out of Quo Vadis. From Nemisis
we got many wonderful offspring, including our Am & Can Sel
Ch Eko-Lan's Havoc v Merivern.
Ch Eko-Lan's Nathan: Co-owned with Pat
Ayers and his wife Aponi, litter brother to Nemisis.
Eko-Lan's
By Myself: (certified h & e good) Sired by Nemisis and out of
Eko-Lan's Isis. Sound of mind and body. So far his offspring show
excellent temperment and promising structure. We have great hopes
for him. He won his Maturity class and is now being shown by Kent
Boyles.
Eko-Lan's Jive Talkin: (certified h & e
good) Sired by Sel.CH. Yarmork's Elvis and out of Eko-Lan's Unique
(Flag x Quo Vadis) We will be bring him out this fall 2001. We have
great hopes for him also.
Eko-Lan's Nash V. Merivern: Co-Owned with
Mary Gattone. A very promising young, dark sable with a head to
die for sired by CH.Rockannand's Integra out of Sunriz IQ of Hylock
Merivern ROM.
